thatscontemporary.com the first geo-temporal web portal
www.thatscontemporary.com was founded in Milan in September 2011 with the ultimate goal of making the presence of contemporary art in the city perceived by a wider audience. From the beginning, the goal has been to propose a policy of networking among the various actors of contemporary art in the city, enhancing the existing, strengthening and communicating it.
The first emanation of the then cultural association was its Internet portal, centered on a map of the city of Milan, through which one can navigate to discover the city's events and initiatives. Each event is marked on the map by a dot: its color and size are indicators of the event's temporal proximity.
The project won first prize in the "Promotional Website" category at the 2012 European Design Awards.
