Monopoli Gallery presents a solo exhibition of Turin artist Piero Fogliati (Canelli 1930). The exhibition path shows the works made between 1966 and 2011  and included in the environmental installations project entitled Città Fantastica. Piero Fogliati’s path starts in Turin during the last period of Felice Casorati (1883-1963). The participation in CIRA (Center for Cooperation for an International Institution of Artistic Research) group and the acquaintance of Piero Simondi, makes Fogliati increasingly responsive to the issues that bind the art to the technique. In the late sixties, the Turin artist shows, through the creation of the Synthetic Light, the chance to come out of the ainting’s surface and invade the environment. Fogliati’s works find in Città Fantastica their natural setting and contribute to the creation of a reality which aims at improving, through technical means, the quality of life (press release extract).
